Koukou Debut (manga)

Haruna was a local softball star during middle school who wants to get a boyfriend at all costs as part of her High School change of lifestyle. Unfortunately, because she spent all her time playing softball she is ignorant of girly things like fashion.

Haruna's first experiment in dressing up was a total disaster. A young man named Yoh frankly pointed out all the flaws and offers to help her with fashion under the condition that she does not fall for him.

And the rest is history...

Note: I like Haruna's character. Unlike the archetypal "damsel in distress' heroines we are so fond of, she is actually very strong (stronger than Yoh). Haruna is rock solid (in catfights) and free-spirited. She is one of my favorite heroines of all time, second only to Motoko Kusanagi.
